testing institution report

A hybrid of Sachinoka and Akihime Japanese strawberry varieties, Benihoppe – ‘red cheek’ – are vibrantly red throughout, with elongated, sweeter tips: eat from the base to the tip to accentuate the sweetness. Locally grown by farmer Xiao Mao in Bai He Town, near Suzhou, using natural fertilizer derived from rapeseed. The strawberries are grown on a reflective sheet laid out on the ground, a way of keeping back bugs and pests as well as increasing the light the plants receive. A double layered, transparent greenhouse further protects the first shoots, regulating the growing temperature inside. Strawberries are an excellent source of vitamin C and also rich in B complex vitamins, which help the body metabolize proteins, fats and carbohydrates.
