Much milder than black, white pepper adds a similarly accentuating, aromatic kick. Austrian family company Kotányi traces its history to 1881, when Janos Kotányi began operating his first paprika mill in his hometown of Szeged, Hungary (then a part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire).
